Well, happening this weekend, it’s a one-of-a-kind event that’s bringing together moms, daughters, neighbors, and friends, and registration is still open right now. I’m joined now by Ryan Miller and Liz Sainz to talk about Kaiser Permanente’s Women’s Festival this weekend. It’s a huge event for the community.
Liz, let’s start with you and tell me a little bit more about the event and why women should come out to celebrate.
Well, Women’s Fitness Fest is a yearly event, but really it’s become a tradition for women across Sacramento(California). You can still register to run, but you can also still donate to our beneficiary. We’ve found that this partnership is super important to us because keeping women safe and healthy happens more than just on and off the race course. So it’s a great race to be a part of. You can meet our beneficiary and our friends from Kaiser as well.
Definitely. And do you have a mimosa garden? You have free breakfast. You are hooking it up for women.
Yes, it’s definitely going to be a fun environment for everyone coming, for all ages. We have generations coming out. So everybody from grandbabies to grandmas. So it’s a perfect event for everybody.
And a lot of people might say, well, I’ve never been in a run before.
Can I make it through something like this? What would you say about women who maybe haven’t started a run before?
I would say that this is a super doable race for anybody who isn’t really accustomed to running.
